Skipton Camerata gives the first of three concerts in Ilkley’s King’s Hall this year with music spanning three centuries.
The dramatic overture to Mozart’s darkest opera, Don Giovanni, opens the programme. It closes with what for many is the finest of Schumann’s four symphonies, the ‘Rhenish’.
Appearing with Skipton Camerata is internationally celebrated cellist Raphael Wallfisch whose world-wide career has seen him perform with the London Philharmonic Orchestra, the Berlin Symphony and play at the BBC Proms. Following their acclaimed rendition of Elgar’s Cello Concerto in Harrogate last year, Wallfisch, Ben Crick and Camerata join forces once more to perform Finzi’s noble Cello Concerto.
